Nasdaq-listed Hyperliquid Strategies has expanded the amount it can raise through share issuance to $2.5 billion.

Wu Blockchain reported on September 1 that the company increased the total limit under its ChEF equity financing agreement to $2.5 billion from $1 billion.

Under the arrangement, Hyperliquid Strategies can raise funds by issuing new shares as needed and selling them to Chardan Capital Markets. The proceeds may be used for general corporate purposes, and additional purchases of HYPE are also listed as a potential use.

The increase in the financing limit does not mean the company will immediately raise $2.5 billion or buy more HYPE. Share issuance will depend on market conditions and funding needs, while the actual amount raised and any HYPE purchases will be determined later.

The share sale program is also subject to restrictions. After cumulative share sales under the agreement reach $1 billion, any additional issuance below $12.02 a share would, in principle, be limited to 42,641,847 shares.

That amount is equivalent to 19.99% of the company's outstanding shares immediately before the contract amendment. The cap may not apply if shareholder approval is obtained or if separate approval is not required under Nasdaq rules.
