Democratic Party lawmaker Min Byung-dug reiterated his commitment to enacting the Digital Asset Framework Act within this year. He indicated the legislative process could begin in earnest as early as November.
Speaking at a digital-asset event on Sept. 10, Min apologized for the delay in establishing digital-asset legislation. He added that the Digital Asset Framework Act would have to be enacted within the year.
Min also laid out a more specific legislative timetable. He said a public hearing would be held this month. Once the National Assembly's annual audit and parliamentary investigation are over, the bill is set to be taken up in earnest around November. He added that he believes a conclusion could be reached in November or January.
