Crypto data provider Alternative said on September 14 that the Crypto Fear & Greed Index came in at 57, down 4 points from a day earlier, while remaining in greed territory.
As of 9 a.m., Bitcoin (BTC) was trading at $76,935 on CoinMarketCap, down 0.59% from the previous day.
Altcoins also traded lower. At the same time, Ether (ETH) fell 1.71% and BNB declined 1.44%. Other major cryptocurrencies were also weaker, including XRP (-1.48%), Solana (-2.08%), Tron (-0.62%), Hyperliquid (-2.43%) and Zcash (-5.40%).
The Fear & Greed Index is a measure of market sentiment. A reading closer to 0 indicates extreme fear, while one closer to 100 signals extreme greed. The index is calculated based on volatility (25%), trading volume (25%), social media (15%), surveys (15%), Bitcoin market capitalization dominance (10%) and Google search trends (10%).
