House Republicans are weighing whether to strip out tax provisions tied to digital-asset mining and staking from a digital-asset tax bill, Cointelegraph reported on September 14, citing Punchbowl News.

Republican lawmakers on the House Ways and Means Committee are considering deleting provisions on the taxation of digital-asset mining and staking ahead of a bill markup scheduled for Wednesday, the report said.

The bill had originally been set to include language clarifying when and how newly acquired digital assets from mining or staking would be taxed.
