BitMine bought an additional 27,180 Ether last week, moving closer to its goal of holding 5% of Ethereum’s total supply.
Wu Blockchain reported on September 14 that BitMine added 27,180 Ether over the past week. As of September 13, its total holdings stood at 5.96 million ETH.
That equals 4.9% of Ethereum’s roughly 122 million total supply. BitMine is aiming to secure 5% of the total supply and has achieved about 98% of that target.
Most of the holdings are being used for staking. BitMine has staked about 5.07 million Ether, or about 85% of its total holdings.
BitMine said its total assets, including digital assets, cash, marketable securities and other investment assets, amount to about $15.8 billion.
