Samsung Electronics appears to be moving to expand the stablecoin business tied to its mobile payment service, Samsung Wallet.

Digital Asset reported on September 18 that Samsung Electronics America is recruiting a senior manager in New York for payments business development at Samsung Wallet.

A notable part of the job description is the scope of the role. Samsung specifically listed stablecoins alongside card issuers, fintech companies and buy now, pay later providers among the payment partnership areas the hire would cover.

The successful candidate will oversee payments business development and go-to-market strategy for Samsung Wallet. The role also includes negotiating contracts with partners, launching new features with product teams, and coordinating rollout plans with marketing, legal and other related organizations.

Samsung previously said at its Galaxy Unpacked event in July that Samsung Wallet plans to support stablecoins in the future.
