Donald Trump is considering Director of National Intelligence Jay Clayton for the role of so-called AI czar, who would oversee U.S. artificial intelligence policy, Axios reported.
Axios reported on September 29 that Trump, when asked whom he was considering for the next AI czar, said he had someone in mind. He also spoke favorably of Clayton, suggesting the intelligence chief would be a good fit for the role.
Clayton served as chair of the Securities and Exchange Commission during Trump’s first administration.
