Summary

  • An analysis said Binance inflows of stablecoins worth more than $1 million rose more than 40% in a little over a month, signaling greater buying power among large investors.
  • It said 30-day cumulative stablecoin inflows to Binance increased about 40.6% to $30.5 billion from $21.7 billion, which could be tied to buying pressure.
  • Still, compared with $61 billion in 30-day cumulative stablecoin inflows in October last year, capital deployment remains cautious, with geopolitical tensions, inflation and rising bond yields limiting more aggressive inflows.

Large investors in the Bitcoin market appear to be gaining more room to buy, according to an analysis published on Oct. 2. Inflows to Binance from so-called millionaire whales transferring more than $1 million in stablecoins have risen more than 40% over the past month.

Darkfost, a CryptoQuant contributor, wrote that whales have recently been gradually allocating more capital to Bitcoin.

CryptoQuant data showed that 30-day cumulative Binance inflows of stablecoins worth more than $1 million increased to $30.5 billion from $21.7 billion a little over a month earlier. That amounts to a roughly 40.6% increase.

Darkfost noted that stablecoins flowing onto exchanges are typically used as sidelined funds waiting to enter the market. Such transfers are often preparation to gain market exposure, and the rise in inflows could be linked to buying pressure.

Even so, capital deployment by whales remains cautious compared with October last year. Darkfost said 30-day cumulative stablecoin inflows then exceeded $61 billion, meaning recent inflows have yet to return to past peak levels.

He added that while expectations for Bitcoin's seasonal strength in October remain, geopolitical tensions, inflation and rising bond yields are restraining more aggressive capital deployment.
