International oil prices rose after Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthi rebels said they had attacked facilities operated by Saudi Aramco, the kingdom's state oil company.

Reuters reported on October 4 that the Houthis said they launched ballistic missiles and drones at Aramco facilities in Riyadh, the Saudi capital, and in the Khurais area. Concern that output could be disrupted in Saudi Arabia, one of the Middle East's major crude exporters, helped lift prices.

As of 10:02 p.m. GMT, Brent crude futures were up 81 cents, or 0.79%, at $103.06 a barrel. U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude futures rose 46 cents, or 0.50%, to $91.57 a barrel.

Khurais, which the Houthis identified as a target, is one of Saudi Arabia's main oil-producing areas. It was not immediately clear whether the attack caused any actual damage to facilities or disrupted crude production.
