Ledger, the hardware wallet maker, has commented on the suspension of its wallet sales at European electronics retailer MediaMarkt Saturn.
In a post on its official X account on October 13, Ledger said it had received a report from one customer in Germany alleging that an additional device had been inserted inside a product. While the investigation is underway, the company said it agreed with MediaMarkt Saturn to halt sales at both online and offline stores.
No customer asset losses have been reported so far, Ledger said. It also said there is no indication that its infrastructure, systems or services were compromised.
Ledger's customer support team is reviewing the report, and its in-house cybersecurity research unit, Donjon, plans to examine the retrieved device.
The company also urged users to watch for scams seeking to exploit the incident. It said various claims and figures circulating online remain unverified, and stressed that Ledger does not contact customers directly or ask for a 24-word recovery phrase.
Ledger added that users should rely only on official channels for updates and that it would share more information as the investigation progresses.
