Mirae Asset Securities Eyes First-Quarter 2027 Launch of Tokenized Products, Reviews Private MMFs and Bonds

Mirae Asset Securities is reviewing privately placed money market funds and private bonds for institutional investors as it targets a first-quarter 2027 launch for its first tokenized financial products.

Digital Asset reported on October 19 that Mirae Asset Securities is pursuing a first-quarter 2027 rollout. Its initial lineup is expected to focus on institution-only private MMFs and private bonds.

Tokenization is a technology that represents rights to traditional financial products as blockchain-based digital tokens. When applied to funds or bonds, it allows ownership and transfer records to be logged and managed on a blockchain.

The MMF under review by Mirae Asset Securities invests primarily in short-term financial instruments. Unlike public funds sold to a broad investor base, private MMFs raise money from a limited group of investors.

Private bonds are also issued to specific investors, and tokenization would allow related rights and trading records to be managed on a blockchain. Mirae Asset Securities is reviewing those products for its first tokenization business, the report said.

The actual launch schedule and final product lineup have not yet been set. The specific business structure, including how the tokens would be issued and distributed, also has not been confirmed.
