MoonPay, a global cryptocurrency payments company, said on October 21 that it will pursue a strategic partnership with Dunamu in digital-asset-based financial infrastructure, including stablecoin payments and corporate treasury management.
The companies plan to combine MoonPay’s global financial services network with Dunamu’s blockchain technology to develop new financial service models. Key areas of cooperation include stablecoin-based cross-border payments, corporate treasury management and expansion of the ecosystem for Dunamu’s GIWA blockchain.
They will first review the commercial viability of cross-border payments and fund transfers using stablecoins. The companies aim to combine their payments infrastructure and blockchain technology to find ways to apply digital assets to real-world financial transactions.
The partnership will also extend to corporate finance. The companies plan to identify use cases for introducing digital-asset infrastructure into corporate finance and treasury operations, and use them to assess the potential for new financial services.
The tie-up will also support GIWA’s expansion into overseas markets. By using MoonPay’s global partner network, the companies aim to improve access for overseas users to GIWA-based services and digital assets, while expanding opportunities to connect with global financial services.
"Technology and networks that can connect stablecoins not only to cross-border payments and money transfers but also to companies’ actual financial operations are important if stablecoins are to be used as global financial infrastructure," said Lee Boo-geon, MoonPay’s co-founder and head of Asia. "By combining Dunamu’s blockchain capabilities with MoonPay’s global financial infrastructure, we will explore new use cases for digital assets and work together to help the GIWA ecosystem expand into global markets."
The companies said they plan to conduct detailed reviews of the technical and commercial feasibility of their main areas of cooperation and continue exploring new business opportunities using their respective infrastructure and networks.
