Ripple is expanding its partnership with Robinhood to broaden the use of the dollar-backed stablecoin RLUSD across retail and institutional financial services.

Cointelegraph reported on October 27 that Ripple and Robinhood announced at the Swell 2026 event in New York plans to expand cooperation on RLUSD-based payments, treasury management, lending and trading services.

RLUSD is currently supported on Robinhood Chain and Bitstamp, and is scheduled to be added to the Robinhood app later this year. Robinhood also plans to use XRP Ledger-based RLUSD for institutional settlement.

Robinhood will also adopt Ripple Treasury, Ripple's corporate treasury management solution. It is intended to support global cash and liquidity management, payment processing, cash-flow forecasting and intercompany fund transfers.

The two companies are also strengthening cooperation in institutional financial services. Ripple Prime is already providing financial services to Bitstamp, which is operated by Robinhood, and the exchange plans to introduce perpetual futures trading later this year.

Ripple has also expanded its partnership with BNY. The bank will support custody for XRP and RLUSD through its digital-asset custody platform, and the companies plan to work together so clients can eventually mint and redeem RLUSD directly through the bank.

Separately, Ripple is teaming up with working-capital platform C2FO on an RLUSD-based business-to-business payments service. The service aims to pay approved invoices within seconds, and the first transaction is planned for later this year.

RLUSD has a market capitalization of about $2.57 billion, with roughly $1 billion issued on the XRP Ledger. Robinhood had 28.6 million funded customers worldwide as of August, which could help broaden RLUSD's distribution base.
