Global cryptocurrency exchange Crypto.com has launched a crypto perpetual futures trading service in the US with leverage of up to 5x.
The Block reported on October 28 that Crypto.com has begun offering the service to eligible investors in the US through derivatives partner OG.com.
The product is designed to let users bet on both rising and falling cryptocurrency prices without an expiration date. It offers leverage of up to 5x, along with take-profit and stop-loss orders and isolated margin. The company did not disclose detailed eligibility requirements.
To launch the service, Crypto.com recently registered with the National Futures Association as a futures commission merchant. Trading and clearing will run through the exchange and clearing infrastructure of OG.com, which is regulated by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission.
The launch comes as US authorities ease rules on crypto derivatives. In May, the CFTC announced steps allowing perpetual futures trading in the US. It later approved related trading by Kalshi and Coinbase, or granted regulatory relief tied to those products. Kraken also rolled out a perpetual futures service in the US in June.
Crypto.com is also expanding into stock derivatives. Nadex, an exchange under OG.com, completed registration with the Securities and Exchange Commission last month for securities futures trading. Crypto.com is also working with the SEC and CFTC on perpetual futures tied to individual stocks.
