Upbit operator Dunamu said on Nov. 2 that it will hold its digital-asset policy conference, D-CON 2026, on Nov. 10 at the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul in Yeouido.
Now in its fourth year, D-CON is an event Dunamu has hosted since 2023 to discuss the development of the digital-asset industry and related policy challenges. This year's theme is "BUIDL to Bloom," with the conference set to examine ways to strengthen the competitiveness of South Korea's digital-asset industry and advance its institutional framework.
The event will consist of three sessions. In the first, economic and current-affairs YouTuber Shuka World will moderate a special discussion featuring Rep. Min Byung-duk of the Democratic Party, Rep. Park Soo-min of the People Power Party and Dunamu Vice Chairman Kim Hyung-nyon. The speakers will discuss the policy tasks South Korea must address to secure global competitiveness in the digital-asset industry.
The second session will examine real-world applications of blockchain technology and its industrial potential. Broadcaster Jung Young-jin will serve as moderator, joined by Goran, chief executive officer of Algoran, Kyung Hee University professor Kim Sang-yoon, Myongji University professor Park Jung-ho and U.S. attorney Seo Dong-joo. Panelists will discuss changes blockchain technology could bring to existing industries and economic activity.
The final session will cover digital-asset regulatory moves in major overseas markets and South Korea's policy response. Kim Joon-young, a lawyer at Kim & Chang, will give a presentation, followed by a discussion with Seoul National University professor Jung Joon-hyuk, Yonsei University professor Eo Joon-kyung and Park Hyo-min, a legislative researcher at the National Assembly Research Service. A main topic will be South Korea's legislative and regulatory strategy in step with global institutionalization trends.
A Dunamu official said that while the digital-asset market has entered a pause this year, major countries including the U.S. are steadily reinforcing the substance of their institutional frameworks. The official added that the company hopes the conference will help South Korea avoid falling behind in the global race toward institutionalization and serve as an opportunity to seek practical solutions for the country to emerge as a leading digital-asset nation based on the innovation it has built up.
D-CON is a public event open free of charge to anyone interested in the digital-asset industry. It will begin at 1:50 p.m. on Nov. 10 at the Grand Ballroom of the Fairmont Ambassador Seoul in Yeouido. Detailed schedules and attendance information are available on Dunamu's official website.
