Roger Ver, the former CEO of Bitcoin.com, known by the nickname 'Bitcoin Jesus', has requested the court to dismiss the lawsuit filed against him by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS).

According to Bloomberg on the 3rd (local time), former CEO Roger Ver has assembled a high-profile legal team (Steptoe & Johnson LLP, Kimura London & White LLP) to submit a dismissal request to the court. Previously, he was indicted by the Department of Justice (DOJ) for tax evasion amounting to $50 million.

Roger Ver's legal team argued that "the exit tax applied by the IRS is unconstitutional and unacceptably vague." They further stated that "it unfairly demands millions of dollars in taxes from overseas residents."

He gained fame in 2011 by promoting and sharing Bitcoin. Later, he funded the establishment of Ripple Labs, Blockchain.com, and Bitcoin.com, and also invested in BitPay and Kraken.

However, U.S. authorities indicted Roger Ver for underreporting his assets and failing to pay taxes after selling assets. He was arrested by investigative authorities while attending a virtual asset conference in Barcelona and is currently released on bail, awaiting extradition to the United States.
