SpaceCoin Confirms First Satellite Launch for Late December

The decentralized application (dApp) based on CreditCoin, SpaceCoin, announced on the 5th that its first satellite launch is confirmed for late December.

SpaceCoin's first satellite, CTC-0, will be launched into space aboard SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, USA, later this month. The project name for this launch is Bandwagon-2.

CTC-0 is a low Earth orbit satellite for building a blockchain-based 5G internet network. It uses a 5G Non-Terrestrial Network (5GNTN) that can connect general mobile devices directly to the internet, with the satellite acting as a mobile phone base station in Earth's orbit.

SpaceCoin's satellite project aims to provide affordable internet access to 2.9 billion people worldwide who currently have limited internet access. The stablecoin team explains that it can offer internet services at a low cost without large-scale investments like fiber optic cables or base station installations.

As the world's first decentralized satellite internet DePIN project, SpaceCoin plans to collaborate with governments and large corporations in emerging countries such as Nigeria, India, and Indonesia to provide services. CTC-0 is the first of four satellites scheduled for launch, and commercial services will begin once successful testing and stable operation are confirmed with the subsequent satellites.
