With Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announcing his resignation, the majority of users on the decentralized prediction market platform Polymarket seem to believe that a pro-crypto (cryptocurrency) candidate will be elected as the next Prime Minister of Canada.
According to The Block on the 6th (local time), 89% of users on Polymarket are betting that Pierre Poilievre, the pro-crypto leader of the Conservative Party, will be elected as the next Canadian Prime Minister.
Previously, Poilievre revealed in 2022 that he holds a Bitcoin ETF (Purpose Bitcoin) and argued that individuals should be provided with options to invest in Bitcoin. Additionally, he is known to be supported by Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, a key figure in Donald Trump's second administration.
