  • Participants can earn PEAQ tokens as rewards through various missions, which is expected to contribute to network expansion.
  • The Get Real campaign is noted as the first case of promoting interaction with the real world in Web3.

Layer 1 (L1) blockchain peaq (PEAQ) announced on the 7th that it is launching the 'Get Real' campaign aimed at spreading the Decentralized Physical Infrastructure Network (DePIN) and Machine Economy.

The campaign will distribute a total of 210 million PEAQ (approximately $100 million, based on the average price over the past two months) as rewards. This accounts for 5% of the total supply. The campaign will run for a year, and participants can complete various missions through the peaq portal to earn rewards. The first season of this campaign, which operates on a seasonal basis, will run from February 5 to the end of the month, with 18.8 million PEAQ allocated as rewards for Season 1.

DePIN refers to a network that builds and operates blockchain-based physical infrastructure. Through this campaign, peaq aims to promote the growth of the DePIN ecosystem and accelerate network expansion. Leonard Dorlöchter, co-founder of peaq, explained, "The competitiveness of DePIN services improves as more users participate in infrastructure building," adding, "As service competitiveness increases, adoption will expand, creating a virtuous cycle of supplier influx."

Participants in the Get Real campaign will complete various missions through 15 DePIN applications onboarded to the peaq ecosystem and receive PEAQ as rewards. For example, they can connect electronic devices and blockchain-based smart plugs through Combinder and share internet bandwidth with DATS to strengthen the cybersecurity network.

Activities also include recording agricultural distribution information on the blockchain with Farmsent and collecting route data using MapMetrics. Additionally, participants can measure noise data with Silencio and collect social media data through the Teneo browser extension. They can also participate in Decentralized Autonomous Organizations (DAOs) and contribute to the activation of the autonomous machine economy using XMAQUINA.

Rewards can also be earned with experience points and non-fungible token (NFT) points obtained by completing missions. Experience points determine rankings on the leaderboard, while NFT points are used to upgrade character equipment. Points earned in each season can be exchanged for rewards for that season. A simple identity verification is required to receive rewards.

After creating an account on the peaq portal, participants can choose one of four NFT characters: Moon Pioneer, Solarpunk Earthling, Wandering Mars Scholar, or Cyborg Exploring Jupiter's Ice Moon. The NFT design is handled by Koto Studio, a global design agency that has collaborated with Microsoft and Activision.

Fred North, Creative Director at Koto Berlin, stated, "The Get Real campaign is the first NFT campaign to drive real-world change in Web3," adding, "We designed NFT rewards to encourage participants to create tangible value."

Leonard Dorlöchter, co-founder of peaq, said, "The Get Real campaign is the first project in Web3 history to reward those who create value in the real world," adding, "It will be an opportunity to rapidly expand the DePIN ecosystem."
