U.S. SEC Delays Decision on BlackRock Ethereum Spot ETF Option Approval

The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has delayed its decision on approving BlackRock's Ethereum (ETH) spot Exchange-Traded Fund (ETF) option trading.
According to The Block on the 7th (local time), the SEC stated in an official document that "more time is needed to thoroughly review the proposed rule change and the issues raised," thus extending the review period for BlackRock's Ethereum spot ETF option. The final decision deadline is April 9.
BlackRock's Ethereum spot ETF was approved last May and began trading. Subsequently, BlackRock applied for a rule change to allow ETF option trading through Nasdaq.
Meanwhile, the SEC also requested public comments on the rule change proposal by the Chicago Board Options Exchange (Cboe) BZX Exchange to list and trade Fidelity's Ethereum spot ETF option. The deadline for submitting comments is within 21 days of publication in the Federal Register.
