According to Binance News on the 2nd, Elvira Nabiullina, the Governor of the Russian Central Bank, announced during a meeting with the Association of Russian Banks (ASROS) that the launch of the digital ruble, previously scheduled for July 2025, will be delayed.
However, the CBDC is not being completely halted. Governor Nabiullina emphasized that "the pilot program is progressing smoothly, and we are finalizing the details," adding that "the schedule has been postponed to present the most attractive economic model and implement the digital ruble on a large scale through consultation with banks."
