The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) appears to be in the process of determining the scope of work for its virtual asset (cryptocurrency) task force.

According to Eleanor Terrett, a Fox Business reporter, on the 6th (local time), Hester Peirce, an SEC Commissioner, stated at the 'Future of Fintech Symposium' that "it's positive that the White House is interested in clarity for virtual assets. The SEC's virtual asset task force is currently working on determining the regulatory scope."

She emphasized that "it's important to know which areas fall under the SEC's jurisdiction and which do not." Meanwhile, the SEC's virtual asset task force is reportedly scheduled to hold its first roundtable meeting on the 22nd.
