Blockchain mentions in US SEC documents reach all-time high in February... "Impact of leadership change"

Mentions of blockchain-related terms in the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) reports were found to be highest in February this year.

According to The Block, cited on the 12th (local time), blockchain-related keyword mentions recorded in the SEC's Electronic Data Gathering, Analysis, and Retrieval system (EDGAR) in February this year exceeded 5,000, continuing a steady increase since mid-2023.

This is analyzed to be closely related to the regulatory policy shift under Acting SEC Chairman Mark Uyeda, who took office in January. Under Uyeda's leadership, the SEC has eased regulations by concluding high-intensity investigations into major virtual asset (cryptocurrency) companies such as Uniswap, Coinbase, Yuga Labs, Kraken, and Gemini.

In addition, a virtual asset task force (TF) led by pro-virtual asset Commissioner Hester Peirce was newly established at the end of January. The TF plans to hold its first roundtable at the end of this month to create a framework for future digital asset regulation through cooperation with the industry.
