According to Decrypt on the 14th (local time), Bo Hines, chairman of the White House Virtual Asset (Cryptocurrency) Advisory Committee, recently said in a private meeting with industry leaders that "the White House is focusing on securing as much Bitcoin as possible."
When a meeting participant asked how much Bitcoin the U.S. government would ultimately purchase, Hines reportedly said it was "like asking how many dollars you want."
In response, a White House official told Decrypt, "While Hines did make that statement, he said that Bitcoin purchases would proceed without burdening the government budget and without tax expenditures."
