A U.S. Democratic House Representative strongly criticized President Donald Trump's strategic Bitcoin (BTC) stockpiling plan and requested the Treasury Department to halt the initiative.

According to Crypto News on the 14th (local time), Representative Gerald E. Connolly sent a letter to Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent requesting that "the government's plan to stockpile digital assets (cryptocurrencies) should be immediately discontinued."

Connolly criticized the plan as a measure that would benefit Trump and his financial backers rather than providing any substantial benefits to American citizens.

He urged that "this stockpiling plan does not benefit the American people, but rather will enrich Trump and his associates," adding that "the policy implementation should be halted and all related information should be disclosed to the Government Reform Committee."
