Two leaders most closely associated with virtual assets (cryptocurrency) met at the White House. However, it is reported that the anticipated discussions regarding Bitcoin (BTC) did not take place.

On the 14th (local time), the virtual asset specialized media Cointelegraph reported that U.S. President Donald Trump and El Salvador President Nayib Bukele held talks at the White House.

The virtual asset community expected mentions of virtual assets, especially Bitcoin, during the meeting of these two presidents. President Trump is leading the charge to designate Bitcoin as a strategic reserve asset for the United States, and President Bukele of El Salvador is also known as a proponent of virtual assets, having designated Bitcoin as the national legal tender.

However, it is reported that there were no mentions of Bitcoin during the talks. According to the content released by President Bukele's side on X (formerly Twitter), the official meeting between the two presidents focused on immigration issues and bilateral security cooperation.

Previously, the Trump administration deported hundreds of illegal immigrants suspected of being members of South American gangs, such as those from Venezuela, to El Salvador. President Bukele, who was tasked by the Trump administration to act as a 'proxy prison,' housed them in the 'Terrorist Containment Center (CECOT).'
