On the 14th (local time), the cryptocurrency specialized media Cointelegraph reported, citing a report from the virtual asset management company Bitwise, that global companies purchased 95,431 Bitcoins in the first quarter of this year, an increase of 16.11% compared to the previous quarter.
As a result, the total amount of Bitcoins held by companies increased to 688,000. This figure accounts for 3.28% of the total supply of 21 million Bitcoins.
Meanwhile, the number of publicly listed companies holding Bitcoin was counted at 79. It was found that 12 companies joined the Bitcoin accumulation trend this quarter alone. According to the holdings ranking at the end of the first quarter, the top was Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy) with a total of 518,185 Bitcoins. It was followed by Mara Holdings (47,531) and Riot Platforms (19,223).
