According to The Block on the 25th (local time), Citigroup stated in a report the previous day that "the stablecoin market could grow over 10 times by 2030, potentially triggering a major transformation across the entire virtual asset (cryptocurrency) ecosystem."
The report predicts that the current stablecoin issuance, which is about $240 billion, could increase to $1.6 trillion in the base scenario and up to $3.7 trillion in the optimistic scenario by 2030. Citigroup analyzed that such growth would be possible due to increased adoption in the financial and public sectors following regulatory changes.
On the other hand, if challenges in adoption and integration persist, the market size could remain at the $500 billion level.
