Ethereum (ETH) core developers are considering quadrupling the Layer 1 gas limit in the 'Fusaka' hard fork following the Pectra upgrade.
According to Cointelegraph on the 25th (local time), EIP-9678, submitted by Sophia Gold, a developer from the Ethereum Foundation's protocol support team on the 23rd, proposes testing an increase in the gas limit by four times to a maximum of 150 million during the Fusaka hard fork.
In this regard, Ethereum core developer Tim Beiko explained, "There was a discussion to push the gas limit increase as a core feature of the Fusaka upgrade." Meanwhile, the Ethereum Pectra upgrade is scheduled to be released on the mainnet on May 7.
