Meanwhile, the U.S. previously announced that it would apply cumulative tariffs of up to 145% on Chinese products. In an interview with ABC the previous day, U.S. President Donald Trump stated that "the 145% tariff on China is a good thing," asserting the legitimacy of the tariffs against China by saying "they (China) deserve it."
