Cannes, known as the host city of the world's most prestigious film festival and a famous tourist destination in France, is expected to significantly increase the implementation of cryptocurrency payments by this summer.

On the 2nd (local time), Artem Shaginyan, founder of LunuPay, who participated in an interview with the cryptocurrency specialized media Cointelegraph, stated, "The city of Cannes aims to raise the digital asset payment rate of local shops to 90%."

Shaginyan said, "If Cannes, a world-renowned city famous for culture and commerce, adopts cryptocurrency payments, the Web3 market will no longer be a niche market," adding, "This is an example showing that cryptocurrency can be utilized in daily life beyond online."

The effort to introduce cryptocurrency into daily life in Cannes is also evident in the announcement made by Mayor David Lisnard last February. Previously, Mayor Lisnard announced educational sessions related to cryptocurrency payments for local merchants and experts.
