President Donald Trump has expressed his intention to lower tariffs on China in the future.

According to Fortune on the 4th (local time), President Trump, in an interview with NBC, stated, "(Tariffs on China) will be lowered someday," adding, "This is an inevitable measure to do business with them."

Regarding the U.S. economy's contraction in the first quarter, he said, "The good part is the Trump economy, and the bad part is the Biden economy," adding, "This is a transition period, and we will do fantastically."

Previously, the Trump administration set a high tariff rate of 145% on China. President Trump explained, "China is now practically (economically) dying," adding, "By imposing tariffs, we have effectively cut off trade relations with China. We have not suffered losses to China."

Regarding the price increase due to tariffs, he dismissed concerns about a recession by saying, "An 11-year-old girl doesn't need 30 dolls."

Meanwhile, President Trump announced that the U.S. administration has entered into tariff negotiations with countries including China.
