"Bitcoin is Benefiting from the Collapse of Fiat Currency... Expected to Rise Significantly This Year"
Summary
- Jordi Visser, an analyst at 22V Research, reported that Bitcoin is benefiting from the decline in trust in the fiat currency system.
- He stated that Bitcoin will play an important role amid the collapse of fiat currency and the rise of digital finance.
- Visser predicted that Bitcoin could see a very significant rise this year as it enters a new bull market cycle.

Amid growing macroeconomic concerns due to tariffs, trust in the fiat currency system is declining, and Bitcoin (BTC) is seen as a beneficiary.
On the 6th (local time), Jordi Visser, an analyst at 22V Research, said in an interview with CNBC Squawk Box Asia, "Bitcoin is unintentionally benefiting from macroeconomic anxiety caused by tariffs."
Visser explained, "By imposing tariffs, the administration is unintentionally causing the value of bonds, stocks, and the dollar to fall," adding, "This shows that trust in the fiat currency system is coming to an end." He also added, "With the collapse of fiat currency, digital finance is expected to gain prominence," and "Bitcoin is currently shouldering the final stage of the rise of digital finance."
When asked if Bitcoin means finance against fiat currency, Visser replied, "The important thing about an asset is whether it can produce profits," "Bonds are no longer generating investment profits, and the stock market is heavily concentrated in the U.S. In this situation, Bitcoin is generating significant profits compared to other assets every year."
However, Visser explained that Bitcoin is just an asset and it is hard to see it as having intrinsic value. When asked by the anchor about other cryptocurrencies, he said, "I think other cryptocurrencies like Ethereum (ETH), Cardano (ADA), and Solana (SOL) are innovations. Bitcoin is not an innovation."
However, Visser explained that this is actually Bitcoin's advantage. He emphasized, "Many people seem to view Bitcoin negatively because it lacks intrinsic value, but I think an asset should not have intrinsic value," "If an asset has intrinsic value, it can be devalued if it becomes too abundant."
Visser also predicted that Bitcoin is moving into a new phase, breaking away from the 4-year bull market cycle. He said, "From a macroeconomic perspective, I think the dollar may continue to weaken in the future," "This is because most of the world's currency systems are composed of dollar debt." He continued, "In this situation, Bitcoin is expected to embark on a cycle different from people's expectations," predicting, "It could see a very significant rise this year."
