The 'GENIUS Act' in the United States Senate is showing signs of progress as it breaks through the deadlock.
According to CoinDesk on the 6th (local time), Ruben Gallego, a Democratic Senator from the State of Arizona, said, "Up to 16 Democratic senators could vote in favor of the bill in the final vote. We have negotiated in good faith with our Republican colleagues, and they have responded in the same way."
Previously, Gallego, along with fellow Democratic senators, opposed the bill last month due to provisions regarding consumer protection and put a brake on its passage. However, he has since changed his stance. In particular, he emphasized that most of the amendments proposed by the Democrats have been reflected in the bill, saying, "Public opinion within the Democratic Party has changed, and we will continue to advance the bill in the Senate."
