Philippe Laffont, founder of Coatue Management and renowned billionaire, expressed a positive view on Bitcoin (BTC).
According to CNBC on the 15th (local time), Laffont attended a Coinbase event held in New York City and said, "Bitcoin's sharp price volatility has been an obstacle for investors," adding, "For this reason, Coatue has also refrained from investing in Bitcoin-related assets."
However, Laffont explained that his thinking on this matter has recently changed. He stressed, "As long as there are others who believe it has value, its value will rise over time," adding, "Bitcoin is becoming a core part of the portfolio." He also mentioned, "If you invest 3~4% of your assets in Bitcoin, it will protect your assets from inflation."
Currently, Coatue is investing in digital asset (cryptocurrency) companies such as Dune Analytics and Hut 8.
