According to Watcher Group on the 21st (local time), Trump said, "Powell is a 'fool' and a 'Trump hater'" and added, "I don't know why the Fed Board doesn't restrain such a complete idiot. Maybe it's time to reconsider the decision to dismiss him," issuing strong remarks.

Earlier, the Fed had kept the interest rates at the current level of 4.25~4.5% during the monetary policy meeting (FOMC) held on the 18th. This marks the fourth consecutive rate freeze this year. Upon the announcement, Trump strongly criticized Powell, saying, "Powell is one of the most foolish and destructive people in the government."
