Following President Lee Jae-myung, Japanese Prime Minister Ishiba Shigeru is also reportedly coordinating to skip the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit to be held in The Hague, Netherlands, on the 24th to 25th.

According to industry sources on the 23rd, Japanese media outlets such as NHK Broadcasting and TBS Broadcasting reported that Prime Minister Ishiba is considering postponing his attendance at the NATO summit given the current Middle Eastern situation. A government official said, "Prime Minister Ishiba is taking into account the tense situation in the Middle East, heightened by the United States attacking Iran's nuclear facilities."

Prime Minister Ishiba originally planned to visit The Hague, Netherlands, for three days from the 24th to attend the NATO summit. If Prime Minister Ishiba confirms his nonattendance, it appears that Foreign Minister Iwaya Takeshi will attend on his behalf.

Previously, President Lee Jae-myung also decided not to attend the NATO summit due to the tense situation in the Middle East.
