U.S. President Donald Trump announced that he has narrowed down the candidates for Jerome Powell's successor as Federal Reserve (Fed) Chair to 3 or 4 individuals.
According to Politico on the 25th (local time), Trump stated at a press conference held after the NATO summit in The Hague, Netherlands, that "the next Fed Chair will be decided from among 3 to 4 candidates" and added, "It's fortunate that Powell's term is ending soon. In my opinion, he is the worst."
In relation to this, The Wall Street Journal also reported that Trump may appoint Powell's successor as early as this summer.
