Competition in the KRW stablecoin market is spreading to the card industry, and KB Kookmin Card has also applied for a large number of related trademarks.
According to the industry on the 3rd, KB Kookmin Card filed 35 trademark applications related to stablecoins, including 'KBCSTB', 'KBCST', and 'KBCKRW', on the 1st of this month. Following Shinhan Card, this is the second case of a card company applying for stablecoin trademarks.
KB Kookmin Card plans to begin detailed work when relevant laws and regulations are established. Meanwhile, Shinhan Card previously registered eight trademarks, including 'SHCw', 'SKRW', 'KRWSH', 'SOLKRW', and 'SHWON', on the 27th of last month.
