Ministry of Science and ICT·KISA to Host 'ABLE' Blockchain Meeting on the 9th…Discussion on Stablecoins and More

The Ministry of Science and ICT announced on the 6th that, together with the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA), it will hold the first regular meeting of 2025 for ABLE (Alliance of Blockchain Leaders and Enterprises), a blockchain demand–supply consultative group. This ABLE meeting will take place on the 9th at the Rendezvous Hall of Seoul Dragon City.
The theme of this regular meeting is 'Digital Assets and Blockchain: Opening a New Future for the Digital Economy Based on Trust.' Specifically, discussions will cover changes in market conditions such as ▲the 'activation of stablecoins' following the launch of the second U.S. Trump administration, and ▲the implementation of 'Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA),' the European Union (EU)'s first comprehensive digital asset regulation.
In the keynote speech, Changbo Ryu, President of the Open Blockchain Association, will present on 'The Future of the Digital Economy Unlocked by Digital Assets: Directions for the Advancement of Stablecoins, STO, and CBDC.' Next, Sunmi Choi, Principal Researcher at the Electronics and Telecommunications Research Institute (ETRI), will speak on topics such as 'The Advent of the Era of AI and Digital Assets: Creating New Value Connected to the Real Economy.' Wonhee Cho, President of the Korea Blockchain Startup Association, will give a presentation on 'New Directions of Digital Asset and Blockchain Policy and the Role of the Industry.'
Other speakers will include ▲Changwon Ahn, PM at the Institute for Information & Communications Technology Planning & Evaluation (IITP), ▲Jaehong Park, President of the Korea Electric Vehicle Industry Association, ▲Sungyoon Kang, Attorney at Kim & Chang, and ▲Jinyoung Jeon, Director at HOPAE.
