The International Monetary Fund (IMF) announced that El Salvador has not made additional Bitcoin (BTC) purchases since February this year.

According to The Block on the 19th (local time), the IMF stated in a recent report, "El Salvador has not purchased any new Bitcoins since February this year, and the recent increase in holdings is the result of consolidating multiple wallets." The report also included a letter jointly signed by the governor of El Salvador's central bank and the finance minister.

This contrasts with the announcements made by Nayib Bukele, the president of El Salvador, and the El Salvador Bitcoin Office. Previously, Bukele stated, "The IMF provided a $1.4 billion loan and requested a reduction in Bitcoin purchase scale, but we will not stop buying." Additionally, the El Salvador Bitcoin Office announced that El Salvador is currently buying one Bitcoin per day and owns a total of 6,242 (about $737 million).
