It has been confirmed that some users of the cryptocurrency wallet MetaMask are experiencing bugs. In response, its developer Consensys has acknowledged the bug and plans to address it.
According to Cointelegraph, a media outlet specializing in digital assets, Consensys stated, "High disk activity has been observed among some MetaMask users" and "On some browser extensions, up to 500 hundred gigabytes of data per day were recorded on SSDs (solid state drives)."
SSDs are high-speed auxiliary memory devices that replace hard disks and have a significant impact on computer performance. The typical lifespan of an SSD is 5–10 years, but if usage is abnormally high, performance can deteriorate rapidly.
Consensys has identified this issue and plans to resolve it. Consensys said, "The team is actively investigating the problem and will release a fix soon."
