On the 28th (KST), crypto-specialized media Cointelegraph reported that on the 25th (local time), Coinbase filed a lawsuit in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California against German national Tobias Honsha for trademark infringement and breach of contract.
According to the complaint, Coinbase claimed that the man abused the domain to redirect users to a trading app unrelated to Coinbase, thereby generating profits. Coinbase stated, “He is maliciously exploiting the brand trust we have built over the past ten years,” and emphasized, “This constitutes cyber extortion, as he is pressuring us to purchase the domain while demanding an excessive price.”
