U.S. giant financial firm Capital Group reportedly made substantial gains from its Bitcoin (BTC) investment.
On the 15th (Korea time), The Wall Street Journal reported that Capital Group saw profits of $6 billion from a $1 billion Bitcoin-related investment it made in 2021.
Capital Group's Bitcoin investment was made by purchasing shares of Bitcoin-holding company Strategy (formerly MicroStrategy). In 2021 Capital Group acquired a 12.3% stake in Strategy for $500 million, and its current value stands at $6.2 billion.
Mark Casey, a Capital Group portfolio manager, said, "We view Bitcoin as a traditional commodity," and predicted, "Bitcoin's price will continue to rise."
