The Democratic Party is set to officially launch a Digital Asset Task Force (TF) on the 24th.

According to industry sources on the 23rd, the Democratic Party will hold a launch ceremony for the 'Digital Asset TF' at 11 a.m. on the 24th in the National Assembly floor leader's office. The TF will be headed by Rep. Lee Jeong-mun, a member of the Political Affairs Committee.

The TF will include Reps. Kang Jun-hyun, Kim Hyun-jung, Min Byung-deok, and Lee Kang-il from the Political Affairs Committee; Reps. Ahn Do-geol and Park Min-gyu from the Planning and Finance Committee; and Reps. Han Min-su and Eui Ju-hee from the Science, ICT, Broadcasting and Communications Committee.

The Digital Asset TF plans to focus on the prompt passage of digital asset bills, including previously proposed bills on stablecoins (virtual assets whose value is linked to fiat currency).

The TF is composed of lawmakers who have experience proposing related bills. Previously, Rep. Ahn Do-geol proposed the 'Act on Issuance and Distribution of Value-stabilized Digital Assets', Rep. Min Byung-deok proposed the 'Digital Asset Basic Act'. Reps. Kim Hyun-jung and Lee Kang-il also respectively proposed the 'Digital Asset Innovation Act' and the 'Value-stabilized Digital Asset Issuance Business Act'.
