The 'Enterprise Workshop: From Web2 to Web3, Expanding Customer Experience' seminar sharing insights on large corporations' Web3 transition strategies was held in Gangnam, Seoul on the 25th. The event was attended by Kim Gyosu, Head of Business Division at SK Planet (CBO), Kenneth Shek, CEO of Moca Network, Jeong In-cheol, Head of the Mileage Unit at SK Planet, and many industry experts. Participants shared real-world experiences applying Web3 technologies to corporate services and discussed the future prospects of blockchain-based data business.
Moca Network is a blockchain project of Animoca Brands that collaborates with major partners such as SK Planet and acts as a bridge between Web2 companies and Web3 technologies. Animoca Brands, headquartered in Hong Kong, is a representative Web3 company focused on creating entry paths to Web3 for institutional investors and large corporations. It is particularly focused on Web3 services that directly engage consumers.
"Moca Network's Air connects various points, discount benefits, etc., to a blockchain account"
In his keynote, Shek introduced Moca Network's core service, the 'Air (AIR)' kit. Air manages information such as users' points or subscription details in a single account and enables immediate use in partner services. Simply put, it is like a 'master key' that can open multiple memberships. In Korea, SK Planet is using Air, and collaborations are increasing overseas in countries such as Germany, Turkey, the United States, and Hong Kong.
In particular, Air helps multiple companies and services connect under the same account. Without individual bilateral agreements between companies, as more participants join the network, users can access additional services with a single wallet address. For example, an OK Cashbag user with more than 100,000 points joining the same ecosystem could immediately receive discounts at convenience stores in the ecosystem.
Meanwhile, Moca Network plans to strengthen services by officially launching its blockchain mainnet within the year. Shek said, "Moca Network's vision is not to be tied to a specific blockchain but to enable users to enjoy benefits across multiple services with a single ID and to own and utilize their data directly," adding, "The Moca chain that supports this is currently operating a testnet, and we plan to officially launch the mainnet within the year."
Oki Club with Web3 welcomed 500,000 new users…Data business to be launched soon
In fact, SK Planet's premium membership service 'Oki Club', which applied the Air kit, has shown clear results since its launch. Earlier, SK Planet launched the 'Oki Club' membership program incorporating Web3 technology into the OK Cashbag application with Moca Network in February. Oki Club attracted 500,000 new users within seven months of launch and has recorded 230,000 actual transacting users to date.
On the day, SK Planet also revealed plans for a user-centric data business. Unit Head Jeong said, "OK Cashbag aims for Web3 services that permeate daily life," and added, "We will soon offer a 'credential service' that allows users to monetize personal data such as subscriptions or interests stored in a blockchain wallet." If users store proofs of various data in their wallets, companies pay to use them, and the rewards return to the users. Users' various data are encrypted using zero-knowledge proof (ZKP) technology and cannot be viewed without consent.
Kim, Head of Business Division, said, "If the data business shifts from a platform-centered to a personal data-centered model, companies' costs will decrease and users will receive benefits," adding, "If consumer data accumulates through Air Credential, a personalized advertising model can be implemented, and the results can once again go to the users." He added, "In the future, mileage and advertising services will transform into different forms than they are now, and new approaches will be needed beyond simply increasing platform size."
