Summary

  • An Ethereum-based rollup project Taiko announced it launched the new testnet 'Taiko Hoodi' starting on the 25th.
  • The existing testnet Helka will be closed on the 30th, and projects on Helka and testnet assets need to be migrated and withdrawn.
  • Taiko Hoodi has the preconfirmation feature applied and is expected to grow into a major development and experimentation space within the Taiko ecosystem.

Taiko (TAIKO), an Ethereum (ETH)-based rollup project, announced on the 26th that it launched a new testnet, 'Taiko Hoodi', starting on the 25th.

Taiko Hoodi is a new testnet with Taiko's core feature, preconfirmation, applied, and it is expected to become a space for major development and experiments in the Taiko ecosystem going forward.

The previously operated testnet 'Helka' will be terminated as of the 30th. Helka had been built based on the existing Ethereum Holesky testnet. With the Ethereum Foundation closing Holesky, Helka will naturally follow suit and shut down.

Accordingly, projects being developed on Helka must all migrate to Taiko Hoodi before the 30th, and any remaining testnet assets must also be withdrawn before the shutdown.

Taiko said, "Helka played a key role in testing and deploying products on the first base rollup, Alethia," and "we thank all contributing developers." It added, "We will continue network growth through Taiko Hoodi and its strong preconfirmation feature."
