On the 12th (local time), according to Kobeisi Letter, the Chinese government said, "The recent export controls on rare earths were an unavoidable defensive measure," and "If the United States continues to raise tariffs, it will take corresponding measures."
China also warned, "We urge the United States to correct its wrongful behavior as soon as possible. Threatening with high tariffs is not the way to maintain a proper relationship with China."
