Summary
- The Chinese government stated that the recently announced rare-earth export controls are not a full export ban.
- China said it will grant export approval for applications that meet the conditions.
- It said the actual impact of this measure is limited, and the stability of global industry and supply chains was emphasized.

The Chinese government said the recently announced rare-earth export controls are not an all-out 'export ban' and expressed a somewhat softened stance.
On the 7th (local time), the Chinese government said, "The recent rare-earth export controls are necessary defensive measures, and applications that meet the relevant regulations will be approved."
It added, "The practical impact of this measure is very limited, and we want deeper dialogue for the stability of global industry and supply chains."
This remark came immediately after the United States imposed a 100% additional tariff on imports of Chinese goods, and the market interprets it as a message that China is sending to ease diplomatic tensions.
