- Reported that, due to disagreements between Republicans and Democrats stalling budget negotiations, investors should exercise caution.

As the U.S. federal government shutdown (temporary halt of operations) enters its third week, the Senate once again failed to pass a budget as Republicans and Democrats clashed over their respective stopgap funding bills.
According to CNBC on the 15th (local time), the U.S. Senate voted down the short-term budget bill led by Republicans by 51 to 44 in the vote held that day. This is the ninth rejection since the shutdown.
Currently, Republicans are advocating a 'clean (no-conditions)' temporary funding bill that would fund government operations at least through November 21. Meanwhile, Democrats say it should include a provision extending subsidies for the low-income health insurance program Obamacare (Affordable Care Act).
